About the Young Professional Program
This role is a part of Coesia’s Young Professionals Program (YPP). YPP is a 2-year rotational program with structured training during the role to develop high potential, early career professionals.
About the Role
As a Manufacturing Engineer a part of our Young Professionals Program, you will be an active contributor in creating, maintaining, and executing the standard in how our manufacturing activities are completed. You will be responsible for measuring your success through Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost metrics that allow the business to achieve their annual targets. The focus will be on testing and developing new, or improving upon existing manufacturing processes by utilizing a standard framework. You will leverage lean behaviors and principles to successfully complete and sustain the results in delivering value to our customers and business.
In this role you are responsible for:
Execute manufacturing process development across electrical and mechanical assembly and runoff/testing processes
Utilize in-depth knowledge of technical disciplines, analytical thinking, and technical experience to execute strategic roadmap initiatives
Execute hands on development of new product technologies and processes enabling a successful handoff to the production assembly team
Manage development iterations to meet customer needs with a strong focus on safety and process quality
Drive lean manufacturing principles into process development
Utilize kaizen activities for continuous improvement and collaborate with the cross functional team on breakthrough initiatives
Lead trainings for salaried and hourly employees to deploy lean principles and tools, such as 5S, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis, etc.
Complete other duties and tasks as required
What You Need to Be Successful
What you need to be successful
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Engineering or related technical field
1 year of experience through full time positions or co-ops working in manufacturing/industrial environments
Strong leadership capabilities
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Able to persuade, motivate, and align support for key ideas and initiatives, and leading clear and concise oral and written discussions and presentations.
Ability to balance and manage multiple complicated priorities and exhibit superior judgment and decision‐making skills.
Skill in influencing decision making and creating consensus cross-functionally.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledgeable in blueprint & technical specification reading and industrial manufacturing processes
Able to travel as needed to other manufacturing locations and mid-rotation training in Europe
Ability to lift to 50 lbs
Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours
