Overview As part of the Engineering Team, you will maintain and optimize automated systems to boost efficiency, quality, and safety in Lear plants. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and sustain various automation types, applying your experience to solve complex equipment issues. This role offers hands-on project work, from safety upgrades to retrofits, with meaningful impact on production performance. ResponsibilitiesSupport manufacturing operations across shiftsIntegrate, program, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Fanuc and UR roboticsManage small projects for Fanuc/UR integrations and safety upgradesTroubleshoot electrical/mechanical issues and read electrical printsDesign panels, BOMs, and wiring diagramsLead design, installation, and modification of plant equipment and processesDefine control system design criteria and instrument requirementsDevelop PLC/SCADA solutions from field devices to PLCs and SCADA platformsEnsure designs comply with OSHA, NEC, NFPA, GMPParticipate in PLC/SCADA software development, testing, and implementationContribute to risk assessments and interface with external systems (MES) Key requirementsBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, or related field5+ years in automation engineering or industrial controlsPLC programming with Allen-Bradley; robotics and SCADA experienceFanuc programming experience; other robotics a plusVision systems experience (Fanuc 3DV) and robot-guided vision basicsSafety standards knowledge (OSHA 1910, ANSI/RIA 15.06, etc.)AutoCAD experience; Ignition or similar SCADA softwareAGV/AMR experience; MES interface knowledgeStrong problem-solving, analytical skills; ability to work independently and in a teamproblem-solvingteam collaborationcommunicationRS Logix 500/5000FactoryTalk HMIBalluff I/O link
