Transportation Supervisor

Transportation Supervisor Catawba County Social Services is seeking a Transportation Supervisor to lead our Medicaid Transportation program, a vital service that helps ensure county residents can access healthcare and human services when it matters most. You will oversee scheduling, compliance, grant reporting, vehicle maintenance coordination, and policy development — all focused on maximizing efficiency, leveraging technology, and improving outcomes for the citizens we serve.Responsibilities Prepare and manage daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual transportation schedules, logs, rotations, tracking, reimbursement, monitoring, and evaluation/outcomes reports; monitor and request updates to the transportation scheduling program as needed; assist in preparing the annual 5310 Elderly and Disabled Transportation Grant; upload vendor trips to NC TRACKS monthlyManage and supervise day-to-day operations of Catawba County's Human Services Transportation program to maximize citizen access while complying with all applicable federal, state, and county policies and proceduresDevelop and implement policies and procedures that ensure the achievement of outcomes, maximize reimbursement, and effectively integrate technology to improve operational efficiencyOversee training and staff development to maximize automation and encourage staff input to improve program effectiveness and efficiencyManage optimal scheduling and maintenance of county vehicles, including responding to vehicle accidents and conducting investigations as neededRepresent the County at Medicaid Transportation appeal hearings and make presentations to boards and committees as neededAssist with emergency shelter staffing, in coordination with the Red Cross, as neededQualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, or Business, and at least 2 years of experience in human services or advanced clerical/office managementAssociate's degree in Human Services, Social Work, or Business, and at least 4 years of experience in human services or advanced clerical/office managementHigh school diploma or equivalent, and at least 6 years of experience in human services or advanced clerical/office managementAdditional Requirements A valid Driver's License with a safe driving record (Driving is an essential function of this position)Must be able to respond to county vehicle accidents involving supervised staff and complete required reportingStrong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneouslyAbility to exercise sound judgment in sensitive or complex situations, including client suspension and appeal decisionsEffective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly to boards, committees, and stakeholdersAbility to work compassionately and professionally with clients of diverse backgrounds and varying needsDemonstrated ability to analyze problems quickly and implement effective solutionsAbility to remain adaptable and composed when responding to daily operational challenges and unexpected situationsAbility to work collaboratively with staff, county departments, and external partners to achieve program goalsProficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer applications; comfort learning and working within transportation scheduling or database systemsPreferences:Prior experience in a supervisory or lead roleFamiliarity with Medicaid transportation programs or human services transportation coordinationExperience with transportation scheduling software or similar automated systemsKnowledge of federal and state transportation grant requirements, including the 5310 Elderly and Disabled Transportation Grant
