Mechanical Design Engineer

Company Overview Barbco, Inc. is a worldwide manufacturer of auger boring machines, directional drills, guided boring machines and advanced tunneling equipment. Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer to develop, design, and improve mechanical components and systems from concept through production. This role focuses on hands-on mechanical design, CAD modeling, and engineering documentation, while collaborating closely with manufacturing, quality, and project teams to deliver reliable, cost-effective solutions. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems based on project requirements Create 3D CAD models and detailed engineering drawings Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback from cross-functional teams Support prototype builds, testing, and validation activities Collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers to resolve design and production issues Manage engineering change requests (ECRs/ECNs) and maintain accurate design documentation Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and safety requirements Qualifications: Required Associate’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field Strong experience with mechanical design and product development Proficiency in SolidWorks Software Ability to create and interpret detailed engineering drawings Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical principles Excellent problem-solving and communication skills Preferred Familiarity with FEA or other engineering analysis tools Experience supporting products from prototype through production Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment Work Environment Office-based engineering role with collaboration across engineering and manufacturing teams Occasional support in lab or production environments Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Dental insurance Health insurance Health savings account Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Education: Associate (Required) Ability to Commute: East Canton, OH 44730 (Required) Work Location: In person
