Other Support Activities for TransportationTechnical and Trade SchoolsOther Residential Care FacilitiesPrivate HouseholdsHousehold Appliances and Electrical and Electronic Goods Merchant WholesalersJob DetailsDescriptionJob Summary | The Crating Technician in the Shipping department is responsible for packaging product into crates and wooden A-Frames in the final phase of fabrication at Cardinal IG, a world-class glass fabricator that leads the nation in providing the highest quality insulating glass products for the residential window and door industry.Essential Functions |Adhere to all company policies, procedures, safety practices and guidelinesEnsure open communication with manager and team by ensuring radio remains on while working on the plant floorSafely handle glass products of various sizes and weights using forkliftsUtilize a range of power tools and equipment to repair racksUse materials to secure glass products based on size and weightLabel crates accurately with product detailsCheck the racks for any signs of damage or areas that may require repairsPrepare custom orders for shipment, packing, and arranging them on wooden crates and A-frames for deliveryInspect product for quality to meet or exceed Cardinal and customer expectationsPerform housekeeping tasks in the workspace to maintain a clean work areaAssist the team, leads, and management in achieving departmental objectivesAbility to work in a team environmentStrong organizational and problem-solving skills, including attention to detailAbility to communicate effectivelyMay be required to work overtime, different shifts, and perform additional tasks to meet company needs and deadlinesRequires regular in-person attendanceWorkplace Environment |Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and potentially sharp objectsNoise levels can be high and will vary based on the location in the plantQualifications |Consistent work history in glass manufacturing or warehouse setting preferredMust be 18 years or olderHigh School Diploma or GED preferredPhysical Demands |Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of timeAbility to lift/carry up to 50 lbsClimbing/ Manipulation/Reaching/Push/Pull/Grip/PinchShift: 1st Shift Monday-Friday 6:30 AM- 3:00 PMPay: $18.00Cardinal Glass is committed to cultivating and preserving a culture of diversity, inclusion, and connectedness.
