Sr. Tax Accountant

Local client in the Raleigh/Durham, NC area is seeking an interim Senior Tax Accountant to support tax compliance, reporting, and accounting activities within a multinational organization on a contract (possible contract-to-hire basis). This role requires strong technical expertise in U.S. and international tax, along with hands-on ASC 740 experience. Ideal for a detail-oriented, proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role will be hybrid onsite 3 days a week in the local Raleigh/Durham office.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and review federal, state, and local income/franchise tax returnsCompile and analyze financial data; prepare supporting tax workpapersAssist with quarterly and annual tax provision processes (ASC 740)Calculate effective tax rates and maintain deferred tax schedulesPrepare tax-related journal entries and financial statement disclosuresSupport tax audits and respond to inquiries from taxing authoritiesConduct tax research and prepare technical memorandaPartner cross-functionally with accounting, treasury, legal, and operationsEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies (SOX)Identify and drive process improvements and automation initiativesQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldMaster’s in Tax and/or CPA strongly preferred5+ years of tax experience (public accounting + corporate preferred)Strong knowledge of U.S. corporate tax and ASC 740Exposure to international tax concepts preferredExperience with tax software (e.g., OneSource, CorpTax) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)Advanced Excel skillsStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environmentRobert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
