Software Engineer for AI Model Training
Apply your software engineering expertise to help improve advanced AI systems through rigorous technical review, prompt development, evaluation, and annotation. This remote, part-time contract role focuses on providing high-quality real-world input that helps AI models learn, reason, and produce stronger technical work. Prior AI experience is not required. Key Responsibilities Analyze, review, and improve AI-generated technical content for clarity, accuracy, completeness, and alignment with software engineering best practices. Create, refine, and assess prompts and instructions that guide AI models toward high-quality technical deliverables. Evaluate model outputs against defined rubrics and provide detailed feedback on quality, correctness, and completeness. Write and edit technical documentation, architecture plans, RFCs, design specifications, engineering proposals, postmortems, technical blogs, and related training materials. Conduct independent research and fact-check technical claims to support accurate, data-driven content. Interpret and annotate data for nuanced software engineering evaluation and labeling tasks. Collaborate asynchronously with project leads and fellow experts while following established deliverable guidelines. Qualifications At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience, such as Software Engineer, Senior Software Engineer, Staff Engineer, Technical Lead, Engineering Manager, or Solutions Architect. Experience authoring or reviewing technical artifacts, including documentation, architecture documents, design specifications, RFCs, engineering proposals, postmortems, technical blogs, or code reviews. Excellent critical thinking, analytical reasoning, logical problem-solving, and attention to detail. A demonstrated commitment to quality assurance in technical outputs. Strong professional and technical writing, editing, and written communication skills. Familiarity with AI coding tools, such as code assistants or automated documentation generators, is helpful but not required. An advanced degree, including a Master''s, JD, MBA, or PhD, or credentials from a highly selective university or comparable academic program, is highly regarded. Work Terms Remote, part-time independent contractor engagement. Work contributes to a project developing and refining advanced AI systems. Compensation $100 to $200 per hour.
