Bachelor's degree or post-graduate work in Elementary Education. Master's degree preferred.2. Valid Washington State teaching certificate with endorsement in Library Media Science.3. Knowledge and/or experience with computer catalogue and circulation system.4. Must have a working knowledge of current OSPI digital technology standards and digital literacy standards.5. Knowledge of and experience working with organizing and managing a library collection.6. Knowledge of and experience with instructional technology in the delivery of curriculum.7. Experience with planning and working with staff in implementing integrated curriculum and student use of technologies.8. Ability to assist students with media selection appropriate to their needs, interests and abilities.9. Maintain integrity of confidential information relating to students, staff and district patrons.10. Demonstrated organizational skills, professionalism, and commitment to follow through on tasks.11. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with students, teachers, school administrators, support personnel, and community members.12. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:1. Reading Advocacy: Motivate students to develop the skills, attitudes and knowledge needed for continued learning as well as reading for enjoyment.2. Work with students, staff and other community patrons in an amiable and productive manner.3. Organize and plan the best use of the physical facility to insure its maximum usage as a learning center.4. Plan and implement the learning resource center program of services to students and teachers in such a way that the program will best support and enrich the curriculum.5. Provide consultant services and professional development for students and staff in the use of emerging media resources and technologies.6. Support and reinforce strategy-based reading instruction with a variety of formats and genres; including digital literacy instruction and curricular unit topics throughout the school.7. Collection Management, including material selection, outdated or damaged materials removal, and updating or refreshing titles and sections as needed.8. Other such job-related tasks as may be assigned.WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS1. May be required to travel between buildings and occasionally attend workshops and conferences with the region or state.2. Required to work flexible hours and schedule which may include some evenings. Expected to prepare classroom for the start of school and prepare workspace or room for summer cleaning after the last day of school.3. Classroom/office environment which includes frequently walking, occasional lifting, and bending, stooping, kneeling and keyboarding.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:Contract Term: 180 days; 19 professional enrichment hours; 3 professional development daysSalary: Based on the 2026-27 state salary schedule.
