Extrusion Operator

Department: Extrusion Location: Telford, PA Reports to: Shift Supervisor Shift(s): 2-2-3 (7 AM - 7 PM) or 2-2-3 (7 PM - 7 AM) Primary Function Responsible for set-up and operations of blown film extruders, striving for quality, efficiency, and minimal waste. Responsibilities Operate machinery to produce materials that meet specifications Monitor production to maintain quality Perform quality testing on material produced Prepare for upcoming jobs and perform changeovers Maintain production reports Troubleshoot processes and equipment problems Effectively communicate and escalate machine and other problems to supervision Observe plant safety, GMP, SQF & other policies Report all safety related Near Misses and incidents immediately Actively participate in department meetings and continuous improvement projects Oversee continual training of all new employees Perform department and equipment TPM (maintenance/inspections) on schedule Maintain 5S and master cleaning schedules Perform daily general housekeeping, consisting of, but not limit to sweeping and trash removal Perform other related work, as required Qualifications Ability to operate Extrusion machines. (Fres-co will train) Ability to use motorized pallet jack and forklift Use of hand tools, such as wrenches, scrapers, die gauges, screwdrivers, tape measures, etc. Basic computer skills Repetitive walking, bending, and stooping Lifting requirement of up to 50 lbs. Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs Experience Manufacturing Machine Operator 3 years (Preferred)
