MRI Technologist
Job SummaryThe MRI Technologist is responsible for ensuring patient safety and producing high-quality MRI images.They communicate effectively with patients, staff, and radiologists, and may assist in training new team members.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure patient safety through thorough pre-screening and proper aseptic techniques.Produce diagnostic-quality MRI scans and evaluate their technical accuracy.Position patients and manage safety protocols, including IV starts and contrast administration.Support daily equipment maintenance, manage supplies, and assist with patient transport.Coordinate scheduling and optimize patient flow.Train new technologists or patient coordinators as needed.Conduct safety screenings to identify hazards related to magnetic fields and equipment.Qualifications & SkillsHigh school diploma or equivalent, with an associate’s degree or related experience.Active certification from ARRT (R), ARRT (MR), or ARMRIT, and BLS certification.1–2 years of MRI experience preferred.Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.Knowledge of infection control, sterile techniques, and medical terminology.Service-oriented with compassionate patient care abilities.Physical RequirementsFrequent sitting, standing, and walking.Occasional lifting up to 35 pounds.Regular stooping and kneeling.
