Programable CNC Machinist
Work Location: Danville, IL
Compensation: $23.00 - $40.00 per hour, commensurate with your skill level
We are currently looking for a skilled CNC Machinist to become a key member of our manufacturing department. To be successful in this role, you should possess significant hands-on experience with CNC mills or lathes, alongside a demonstrated capacity to program using both Mazatrol and Fanuc control systems.
This role is designed for an experienced professional rather than an entry-level operator. You will be expected to independently manage machine setups, refine programs, verify part quality, and resolve technical challenges with minimal oversight.
Core Duties
Execute setups and operation of CNC lathe and mill equipment
Develop and modify programs utilizing Mazatrol and Fanuc interfaces
Analyze technical drawings, blueprints, and production documentation
Determine and mount the appropriate fixtures, tooling, and workholding devices
Configure necessary work coordinates and tool offsets
Conduct initial inspections to ensure quality and perform machine refinements
Utilize precision tools like calipers, micrometers, and gauges
Oversee machine output to rectify quality or dimensional discrepancies
Verify finished components against strict tolerance requirements
Keep precise documentation regarding production and quality checks
Contribute to a safer workplace by adhering to all quality and maintenance standards
Support the team by performing manual machining tasks as required
Essential Qualifications
Background in CNC machining involving lathe or mill equipment
Practical expertise in programming via Fanuc systems
Practical expertise in programming via Mazatrol systems
Capacity to perform independent machine setups
Proficiency in generating and adjusting CNC code directly at the machine
Advanced ability to interpret complex blueprints
Competence in utilizing various precision measurement tools
Comprehensive knowledge of feeds, speeds, tolerances, and tooling
Strong problem-solving skills to address quality and machining issues
Consistent attendance and dependable transit to the Danville area
Desired Background
Operational proficiency with both CNC lathe and mill machinery
Prior work with manual lathes or mills
Background in producing components with tight tolerances
Knowledge of in-process quality monitoring and initial part inspection
History of working within precision, custom, or production machining settings
Key Requirement
It is mandatory that applicants possess direct programming experience with Mazatrol and Fanuc controls. Please note that individuals whose experience is restricted to simply loading parts or initiating pre-programmed cycles will not be considered for this opening.
