Electrical Project Coordinator
Job Description
We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Electrical Project Coordinator to join our construction management team. In this role, you will serve as the central hub of communication between our Project Managers, field Foremen, vendors, and clients. You will be responsible for managing project documentation, tracking material procurement, processing change orders, and ensuring that our electrical projects stay on schedule and within budget. The ideal candidate possesses excellent administrative skills, a solid understanding of commercial/industrial construction processes, and the ability to juggle multiple moving parts simultaneously.Key ResponsibilitiesDocument Control: Manage, organize, and distribute all project-related documentation, including blueprints, submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), meeting minutes, and safety logs.Material Procurement & Tracking: Coordinate with vendors and supply houses to track material orders, release fixtures/switchgear according to project schedules, and verify that deliveries to the job site match purchase orders.Change Order Management: Assist Project Managers in tracking project scope changes, gathering material and labor pricing from the field, and drafting change orders for client approval.Schedule Coordination: Monitor project timelines and milestones; assist in scheduling manpower, equipment rentals (lifts, cranes), and inspections to prevent field delays.Closeout Documentation: Compile and organize final project closeout packages, including O&M (Operations & Maintenance) manuals, as-built drawings, and warranty information for the client.Cross-Team Communication: Act as a primary liaison between the corporate office and field superintendents, ensuring field teams have the most up-to-date drawings and specifications.Position Requirements & QualificationsExperience: 2–4 years of experience in construction project coordination, project management assistance, or construction administration. (Specific experience within the electrical contracting industry is highly preferred).Technical Skills: Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid) and standard office suites (MS Excel, Word, Outlook). Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.Soft Skills: Exceptional organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities. Strong verbal and written communication skills for interfacing with clients and field crews alike.Education: High school diploma required; a degree or certificate in Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field is a plus. (Alternatively, a former field electrician looking to transition into an office management role is highly encouraged to apply).Screening: Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening. Occasional travel to local job sites may be required.
