Title : Sr. SQL DBA/DeveloperDuration - 6 to 12 months + ContractWork Location - New York City , NYWork Mode- Hybrid - 4 Days Onsite and 1 Day RemoteKey ResponsibilitiesDatabase DevelopmentWrite Database Objects: Create complex Transact-SQL (T-SQL) queries, stored procedures, triggers, indexes, and user-defined functions.Schema Design: Architect scalable relational database schemas, tables, and data constraints.Data Integration: Build and maintain Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) pipelines using SSIS or cloud tools.Code Collaboration: Work with application developers to integrate backend code with user-facing software.Database Administration (DBA)Performance Tuning: Analyze execution plans to optimize slow-running queries and resolve indexing bottlenecks.Backup & Recovery: Establish, test, and implement disaster recovery protocols (e.g., Always-On Availability Groups, log shipping).Security Control: Enforce data security standards by managing user privileges, logins, and encryption mechanisms.Server Maintenance: Monitor system health, apply security patches, manage database growth, and execute version upgrades.Process Automation: Write automation scripts to streamline repetitive operational and maintenance workflows.Required Skills & QualificationsTechnical CompetenciesPrimary DBMS: Advanced expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).Languages: Strong mastery of T-SQL, along with scripting languages like PowerShell or Unix Shell.Tools: Practical experience with SQL Profiler, Extended Events, and Execution Plans.High Availability: Hands-on experience with Failover Clustering and Replication technology.Cloud Infrastructure: Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure SQL Database, AWS RDS).Education & Experience RequirementsDegree: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline.Experience: 3–5 years working in a production environment as a dedicated Database Developer or Administrator.Certifications: Relevant industry credentials (e.g., SQL DBA, Azure Database Administrator Associate) are highly preferred.
