The candidate will receive comprehensive training in various aspects of litigation.ResponsibilitiesDraft and finalize summonses, motions, orders, discovery requests, demand letters, affidavits, and subpoenasFile pleadings in state, federal, and appellate courts, as well as regulatory agencies (e.g., Illinois Department of Labor, EEOC)Communicate with judges’ chambers, clerks, sheriffs’ offices, and process servers regarding filings and service of legal documentsCoordinate depositions, court reporters, and conference room bookingsProofread legal documents, including cite-checking using Bluebook Uniform CitationPrepare and organize court exhibits and assist with document productionsTrack and docket incoming and outgoing pleadingsMaintain service lists for litigation mattersFacilitate client communication related to case mattersEnrolling attorneys in conferences and seminarsManage various administrative tasks, such as lunch reservations, conference room scheduling, and event coordinationPrepare expense reports and billing lettersAssist with holiday gifts for clients, if neededQualificationsA certificate from an ABA-approved Paralegal training program is preferred but not mandatory, as it demonstrates a commitment to the profession.Required SkillsStrong knowledge of litigation proceduresExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office and other legal softwareHighly organized, detail-oriented, and reliableAbility to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environmentCapable of working both independently and as part of a collaborative teamPreferred SkillsStrong word processing and communication skills are essential.
