Engineering Technician - IV

Position Summary TTI is seeking Engineering Technician IVs to support our team in Phoenix, AZ. These roles provide technical and administrative support to engineering staff, project managers, and foremen in managing preventive maintenance, construction projects, compliance, and reporting. Key Responsibilities Core duties (all technicians): Assist staff in preventive maintenance scheduling, work assignments, and project status updates. Track and review work orders for cost codes, labor utilization, equipment, materials, and schedule compliance. Serve as a coordinator between government employees and contractors, providing technical and administrative support. Maintain data integrity of automated systems; gather and organize documentation for reporting and audits. Support internal audits and prepare materials as required. Attend internal WAPA meetings. Ensure compliance with all applicable safety and health regulations. Assist with preparing procurement and closeout packages for technical equipment and services. Enter purchase requests into the financial system with approval and proper coding. Supports additional tasks and responsibilities as directed by supervisors to meet mission and program needs, with flexibility to support evolving team requirements and opportunities for growth, expanded responsibilities, and training. Additional specialized duties (designated positions): Reliability Compliance (1 position): Develop computerized reports, support compliance data entry and analysis, and assist in maintenance/financial tracking programs. Construction & Compliance (2 positions): Review contractor payrolls for Davis-Bacon Act compliance; assist with construction drawings, specifications, and invoices; coordinate GFE materials and pre-construction meetings. Project Support & Field Work (2 positions): Prepare project documentation, coordinate with Realty/Environmental groups, review contractor submittals, maintain GIS/SharePoint tools, visit work sites (lifting up to 35 lbs.), and travel up to 50%. Required Qualifications Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Environmental Planning, Natural Resources, or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Equivalent: three (3) years of directly relevant work experience may substitute. Knowledge of utility construction practices and compliance requirements (Davis-Bacon Act, NEPA). General knowledge of high-voltage electrical power systems, components, and diagrams. Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and financial tracking systems. Understanding of Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) principles. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Preferred Qualifications Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL). Knowledge of forestry, natural resources, or environmental compliance. Ability to obtain and maintain California Air Resources Board (CARB) Heavy-Duty Inspection and Maintenance (HD I/M) certification. Experience creating and maintaining GIS tracking tools and SharePoint sites. Ability to travel overnight up to 50%. Physical & Other Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
