Teacher Assistant - Durham

Primary Role:The ideal candidate is will work with students and perform additional tasks to support teachers in providing a comprehensive educational program. The TMSA Charter Schools teacher's assistant is industrious, cooperative and knowledgeable about education best practices and child development.Qualifications:High school diplomaAssociate's degree in education or related fieldRelevant experience in an educational or childcare setting: 1 yr.Certified in child first aid and CPR (plus)Skills, Duties, and Responsibilities:Prepare materials for lessons, demonstrations, and bulletin boardsOperate equipment including computers, printers, and photocopiersEnsure students have all materials necessary for class activitiesWork with students individually or in small groups for extension or remediationProvide extra help as needed to students with physical, mental, or linguistic limitationsMaintain detailed records of students' progress on instructional or behavioral goalsSupervise bus loading and unloading or car rider drop-off and pick-upGrade assignments and record results in the school computer systemSupport students with assistive devices and supportive technologiesAdhere to accommodations in students' IEPs and 504 plansEnforce TMSA Charter Schools rules and policiesParticipate in parent-teacher conferences as requested by the teacher
