The start date is [start-status] for this [duration-status] position.Job Title: Video EditorLocation-Type: NYC HybridStart Date Is: ASAPDuration: (contract, perm, etc) 7+ Month Contract (Part-time- 20 hours/week)Compensation Range: $35-42/hr Benefits: Eligible for Health, Dental, Vision, 401KMust be authorized to work in the U.S. This position is not eligible for sponsorship.Job DescriptionServe as a hybrid Editor/Shooter, with a primary focus on editing (70%) and on-site shooting (20-30%)Lead post-production efforts including editing long-form documentary content (~15 minutes), short-form videos, and branded storytelling pieces with a polished, narrative-driven approachShape compelling stories by cutting interviews, integrating archival and multi-source footage, and ensuring strong pacing, structure, and visual qualityManage and organize B-roll, prep assets for internal and external editors, and support overall post-production workflow as an editor/supervisorCollaborate closely with internal creative, design, and marketing teams as an active, on-site team member, including participation in regular meetings and creative discussionsWork directly with stakeholders to interpret feedback, align on creative vision, and deliver high-quality content that meets brand standardsContribute to a culture of high creative standards, working alongside an award-winning team while bringing fresh ideas and strong visual storytelling instinctsSupport ongoing media management and content maintenance needs as part of the in-house teamRequirementsStrong experience in documentary-style editing with the ability to craft narrative-driven content from interviews and real-world footage (non-scripted, non-actor based)Proven ability to edit complex stories using multiple footage sources, including archival content, while maintaining clarity, pacing, and engagementExperience in both editing and shooting, with solid cinematography fundamentals (lighting, composition, capturing high-quality footage)Background working in-house or with established brands/institutions, with an understanding of brand tone and stakeholder expectationsExperience collaborating with cross-functional teams (creative, marketing, design) and working closely with stakeholders
