Cost Accounting Manager – Food Manufacturing (PE-Owned)Location: Stanwood, WA (Onsite)About the RoleSeeking a Cost Accounting Manager to lead plant‑level accounting, financial reporting, and cost visibility in a fast‑paced, PE‑backed food manufacturing environment. This individual contributor manager role owns the general ledger, strengthens internal controls, oversees daily transaction processing, and partners closely with operations to improve cost performance and inventory accuracy.What You’ll Do• Manage plant accounting, month‑end close, and GAAP compliance• Maintain strong internal controls and audit readiness• Oversee AP, AR, payroll coordination, and labor costing• Lead cost accounting: standard costs, BOMs, variances, and margin support• Ensure accurate inventory valuation; lead cycle counts and variance resolution• Prepare monthly financials, reconciliations, and variance analysis• Support budgeting, forecasting, and working capital initiatives• Coordinate external audits and implement corrective actions• Track capital projects and support PE‑driven reporting needsWhat We’re Looking For• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance• 5+ years of manufacturing accounting experience required (food/process preferred)• Strong background in cost accounting, inventory, AP/AR, and payroll• Experience supporting external audits• ERP experience (NetSuite, SAP, Dynamics, Oracle, Infor, etc.)Preferred: CPA/CMA, PE‑owned environment experience, food manufacturing exposure, prior supervisory experience.Key Traits• Strong control mindset with operational awareness• High attention to detail and accuracy• Comfortable working independently in a fast‑paced plant setting• Effective communicator with both finance and operations
