This position is expected to travel to all our locations to support store management through training, development, and to cover PTO or Call Off's as needed. They will provide oversight into the assigned location for the full range of Assistant Store Manager activities, resulting in positive experiences for both employees and customers as well as retail profitability, all in a manner consistent with our Mission and Values. The ASM Floater sets expectations for the proper execution of policies and procedures and respond as appropriate to employee performance. KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Location FlexibilityThis position will travel between all CommunityAid locations to support stores to meet operational goals and objectives. Travel assignments will be given by a Regional Manager and/or Director of Operations.Operational Oversight-RetailCustomer Service:Oversees interactions at the front-end area of the sales floor to ensure and promote a consistent positive shopping experience and to deter theft.Handles customer complaints promptly and professionally.Cash Handling:Trains the Retail Floor Supervisor and Front End Trainer on cash handling procedures including counting cash drawers, reconciliation, deposits, and bank runs, while maintaining the safe's security.Supervises cash management procedures, ensuring adherence for Retail staff, including the Retail Floor Supervisor, Retail Associates, and Front End or Retail Floor Trainers.Oversees the delivery of training by the Front End Trainer, verifying it is executed efficiently and adheres to company policies and procedures.ProductionMonitors the quality of Production products prepared for the retail floor.Adjusts pricing based on data provided by the Operations Manager.Collaborates with store management to assess and address inventory and ragout trends.Ensures Warehouse and Procurement inventory are completed following standard operating procedures.Tracks production metrics, effectively communicates with Associates and Production Other Trainer, and collaborates with the team to consistently meet and exceed standards.Conducts floor walk of all areas, sharing insights with Store Management to ensure alignment.Takes responsibility for the overall function of the store when the Store Manager, Operations Manager, and Assistant Managers are not present.Staffing, Employee Training and Development- Oversees associate staff at the location as assigned/needed.Evaluates potential candidates for cultural alignment and position fit through phone interviews and on-site interviews.Manages the selection and integration of new staff by adhering to company procedures.Assists Store Management at the location with Associate training in their roles, responsibilities, company policies, procedures and best practices, including cross-training in other departments as needed.Collaborates with the Operations Manager to ensure proper staffing levels in adherence with the labor model, including cross-training.Communicates performance expectations, coaching for improvement and success and utilizes existing performance management tools to document conversations.Employee Engagement and Morale- Promotes employee engagement through assisting with huddles and team meetings, one-on-one check-ins, special events, and prioritizing employee recognition.Compliance and Regulatory Activities- Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal laws, as well as CommunityAid policies and procedures, and ensures these are clearly communicated and followed by all associate staff.Facilities and Logistics Safety -Maintains a safe environment for both employees and customers.Ensures the cleanliness and organization in the office, warehouse, and retail floor areas.Regularly monitors for safety, promptly addressing and taking measures to correct unsafe work conditions.Additional Duties or Responsibilities -Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Store Manager at the location and/or Regional Management.Complies with all Company established policies and standards.CORE COMPETENCIES:Embrace, exemplify, endorse, and teach CommunityAid's 12 Core BehaviorsEmbrace and support CommunityAid's MissionExpansive knowledge of retail operations and its integral relationship with warehouse operationsEffective leadership skills, including leading teamsEmotional intelligence and strong interpersonal relationship skills Excellent communication abilities with an emphasis on clarity and listeningStrong critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and exercises sound judgementMaintains confidentialityAbility to organize and prioritize a variety of tasks while working within strict timeframesAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environmentQUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent requiredAssociate or bachelor's degree related to business management preferredMinimum of one-year experience in a supervisory role within a comparable production, retail, or service-oriented business preferredExperience effectively managing in a fast-paced, professional work environmentThe ability to properly handle and maintain confidential informationFlexibility with scheduling and availability to work evenings and weekends on a regular basisProficient in reading, writing, and speaking EnglishMust have a valid Driver's LicenseMust be eligible to work in the U.S without sponsorshipAdherence to consistent attendance and weekly hours expectations based on full-time/part-time/seasonal non-exempt(hourly) status PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to frequently lift and carry 21 to 35 poundsAbility to occasionally carry up to 50 pounds.Ability to push and pull up to 20 pounds.Ability to stand for extended periods.
