Job DescriptionPosition Title: Senior Transmission Line Engineer/DesignerLocation: West Palm Beach, FLEmployment Type: Full-TimeSalary Range: $90,000 - $130,000 per yearReports To Transmission SupervisorPosition Overview:ECF Engineering is seeking a Senior Transmission Line Designer to join our team in West Palm Beach, FL. This position is responsible for performing detailed drafting and design work for transmission, distribution, and streetlight projects. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise. In CAD and permitting, with the ability to produce accurate and timely drawing packages while collaborating closely with engineers and project teams.Key Responsibilities:Perform detailed design and drafting for transmission line projects with minimal supervision.Prepare drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for review and approval by engineers.Support design and drafting for transmission, distribution, and streetlight systems, including plan and profile drawings, structural/electrical details, and construction support documents.Manage permitting activities for transmission, distribution, and streetlight projects.Develop and maintain documentation for design changes and updates.Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to ensure project requirements and deadlines are met.Create and maintain drafting standards and checklists for technical drawings.Generate as-built drawings and ensure compliance with permitting authority rules and regulations.Use PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, and MicroStation software to create detailed technical drawings.Participate in project meetings and provide technical guidance to junior designers.Manage multiple drafting projects simultaneously while maintaining high quality and accuracy.Conduct field data collection as needed for project design.Ensure all drawings and files are organized and managed according to company standards.Attend required training sessions and team meetings.RequirementsRequired Qualifications:Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.Experience: Minimum 10 years of relevant drafting/design experience (without a degree).Technical Proficiency:AutoCAD, PLS-CADD, and MicroStationStrong understanding of transmission and distribution design standardsKnowledge of permitting requirements and as-built processesFamiliarity with Microsoft Office Suite and web-based collaboration platformsPreferred Qualifications:Associate or Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field.Certification in Drafting or Design Software.Experience with civil foundations, steel detailing, and electrical power equipment design.BenefitsSkills & Abilities:Strong mathematical and analytical abilities.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.Capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Self-motivated, quality-driven, and customer-focused.Ability to think strategically, provide constructive feedback, and work independently when needed.
