Quality Engineering Specialist I. BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible for auditdocumentation, standard operating procedures, and documentation of company systems, procedures, forms, etc. II. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: A. Ensure quality of product manufactured and packaged in all departments and the quality of all services provided to customers by all departments meet or exceed customer expectations. Ensure production and packaging of product is performed in compliance with externally imposed requirements and internal standards. B. Create and maintainBRC and FCP QS 9001/2000 Quality Manual, Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and Forms. C. Facilitate communication regarding quality matters among Company staff, customers and vendors. D. Ensure compliance with customer and Company requirements for deviations from documented specifications and procedures and document permissions for deviations. E. Supervise preparation and distribution of all quality-related reports required by customers, vendors, the Company, and other entities. F. Participate in and /or coordinate internal and external vendor and customer quality audits. III. RELATIONSHIPS: Reports directly to Assistant Quality Manager; communicates with internal staff at all levels, consultants, vendors, and customers. IV. EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 3-5 years in the quality department of a company with ISO and BRC experience and experience with quality management software. V. TRAINING REQUIRED: Administrative and ERP computerized systems on-the-job training required. Process and product familiarization on-the-job training required. VI. EDUCATION REQUIRED: High School Diploma. Preferred Bachelors or Associate’s Degree in quality management or equivalent work experience.
