Specialty Physician Coder

📍 Location: Remote (Must reside in California)🏢 Worksite: Fountain Valley, CA📅 Contract Duration: 3 months Contract to Potential Full-Time OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced Specialty Physician Coder with strong cardiology and cardiac surgery coding expertise to join a leading healthcare organization. This role is ideal for a highly skilled Profee coder with advanced Epic charge review and submission experience.🔹 Key Responsibilities:• Review and accurately code office, hospital, inpatient, outpatient, and surgical/procedural records• Perform charge review and charge entry using Epic• Abstract charts to capture all billable charges• Assign ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes in compliance with coding guidelines• Analyze coding trends, denials, missing charges, and reimbursement opportunities• Support coding compliance initiatives and provider education• Collaborate with physicians, billing teams, and coding leadership🔹 Required Qualifications:✔ CPC, CCS, CCC, or equivalent certification required✔ Strong Cardiology & Cardiac Surgery coding experience✔ Critical care coding knowledge required✔ Experience with heart catheterizations✔ Strong inpatient & outpatient E/M coding experience✔ Expert-level Epic charge submission/review experience✔ 3–5+ years of physician or hospital coding experience✔ Strong understanding of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, anatomy, physiology, and revenue cycle🔹 Highly Preferred:⭐ CIRCC certification⭐ Denials management experience⭐ GI (CGIC) or OBGYN (COBGC) coding experience⭐ Experience mentoring or training coding staff⚠ Important:• Profee coding ONLY (No HCC/Risk Adjustment, ASC, or Facility Coding)• Must be detail-oriented with strong analytical and communication skillsIf you or someone in your network is interested, please apply or reach out directly to discuss further opportunities!
