This is the perfect job for a parent that has school drop and pick-up times to manage, so needs a shorter morning shift or a Saddleback College Student with early day availability. As a Cafeteria Cashier, you will be working in the Fairmont cafeteria each day to prepare snacks, set food out for students, work behind the counter to serve pre-made-meals, assist students with meal selections, and work the cash registers to check out students during lunch and snack breaks. You will also maintain a clean, safe working environment by bussing lunch area, maintaining salad bar and grab-go areas, and keeping the cafeteria area clean and tidy. The ideal candidate has excellent customer service skills, loves kids, has a patience and patient demeanor, enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, is comfortable with technology and running a cash register, and is able working on your feet for long stretches of time.ResponsibilitiesAssist in preparing lunch for all age groupsRestock food and cafeteria items as neededServe students and assist them in finding what they are looking forMaintain a clean work environment at all timesFollow all food safety guidelines Work the cash register and accept payment for foodQualificationsExcellent customer service skillsFriendly and able to recognize names and faces and make kids feel welcomeFamiliarity with best practices when it comes to food safety desiredThe ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environmentAvailable Monday-Friday 8:30am-2pmFluent English/Spanish and or Mandarin Chinese a plusMust be able to lift 50lbsMust be willing to submit background check
