Bilingual Civil Attorney (Spanish & English)

NeSmith & NeSmith, P.C. is actively seeking a dedicated Civil Attorney to join our firm’s Montgomery, AL office location. NeSmith & NeSmith is a highly reputable small law firm committed to serving the state of Alabama and the surrounding areas. Our ideal candidate is a self-motivator who works well with others, embraces new challenges, and hits the ground running. This position is for an Attorney whose focus will be Civil Law. It is anticipated that this position will require 40 or more hours per week to meet the needs of their clients. Qualifications: Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA-accredited law school Admittance to practice law in the United States (Alabama Bar admission preferred) Bilingual English/Spanish (REQUIRED) Primary Responsibilities: Performs quality legal work with very limited review from case initiation through completion Conducts consultations and interviews with clients to explain case strategy based on client’s own goals Assesses client’s eligibility for relief in personal injury, wills and estate planning, family law, and criminal defense Develops case strategy for individual client needs Represents clients at hearings in Civil Court Drafts, reviews, and files appropriate court pleadings as well as any motions, petitions, or briefs Manages large caseload to ensure that all clients are represented vigorously Complies with all legal and ethical standards, maintaining good standing with all Bar Associations Able to work outside normal office hours as needed according to caseload Compensation/Benefits: Competitive base salary + bonus potential Bar dues Paid Time Off/Paid Holidays Group health insurance plan Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $48,000.00 per year Experience: Bilingual: 4 years (Required) Language: English (Required) License/Certification: Bar (Required) Ability to Commute: Montgomery, AL 36104 (Required) Work Location: In person
