What You Will Be Accountable ForAssist Lead Designers in developing conceptual and schematic architectural designsTranslate design concepts into design development and construction documentsApply architectural techniques to interpret design intent during project developmentDevelop preliminary building plans and documentation for client reviewResearch and evaluate building materials, systems, and technical solutionsLead architectural coordination during the design development phaseAssist with delegation and oversight of tasks across the architecture and engineering production teamCoordinate closely with architects, interior designers, engineers, and external consultantsManage design documentation quality and ensure alignment with project schedulesGuide production teams through design development and construction documentation phasesServe as a point of contact with clients during the design development processParticipate in owner meetings to review design progress and plan developmentAttend and present at plan commission or municipal review meetingsProvide design recommendations that align with client goals and project budgetsReview due diligence materials, including surveys, soils reports, and environmental documentationEvaluate building systems and assist with material selectionReview submittals, RFIs, and substitution requestsConduct construction observation through site visits or project documentationCoordinate with consultants and external partners to maintain documentation accuracyProvide mentorship and technical guidance to less experienced architectural staffSupport collaborative design and technical problem-solving across project teamsAssist leadership in maintaining quality control across project deliverablesWhat Qualifications You NeedBachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field3+ years of architectural experience with progressive project responsibilityStrong proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (production experience in an office environment)Demonstrated ability to translate architectural concepts into construction-ready documentation, interpret technical documentation such as ALTA surveys, soils reports, safety rules, and product specifications, Manage multiple projects while maintaining strong attention to detail, and communicate effectively with clients, consultants, and internal teams.Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilitiesExperience working within commercial, retail, office, or financial institution project environmentsPreferred (Not Required)Architectural Registration (Licensed Architect)Experience within design-build environmentsFamiliarity with SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft ProjectExperience coordinating consultants, vendors, and multidisciplinary project teamsExposure to construction administration and site observationWhy Work with Chamberlain?
