Accountant - Site Development

Job DescriptionOverviewA growing development and construction organization is seeking a detail-oriented Site Development Accountant to support land development and horizontal construction projects. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who understands job costing, project financial tracking, and the unique financial structures tied to sitework, infrastructure, and development phases.This position works closely with project managers, land development teams, and leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting and cost control throughout the lifecycle of site development projects.ResponsibilitiesManage accounting functions related to site development and horizontal construction projectsTrack job costs, budgets, and committed costs for land development projectsProcess and review accounts payable related to subcontractors, utilities, grading, paving, and infrastructure workAssist with month-end close, reconciliations, and project reportingMonitor development budgets and provide variance analysisSupport draw requests and lender reporting as neededMaintain accurate records in accordance with company policies and GAAPCollaborate with project managers to resolve cost discrepancies and forecast financial performanceQualifications3-7+ years of accounting experience in construction, land development, or real estateStrong understanding of job costing and project-based accountingProficiency in construction accounting software (Sage, Viewpoint, Timberline, QuickBooks, or similar)Knowledge of GAAP and construction accounting best practicesStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferredWhy This RoleOpportunity to work on impactful land development and infrastructure projectsExposure to full project lifecycle accountingCollaborative team environment with growth potentialStable, expanding organization with long-term opportunityConfidential conversations welcome.Send your resume to melissa.strater@gogpac.comMelissa Strater will personally reach out to qualified candidates for a private discussion.
