Senior Project Manager - Commercial HVAC & Mechanical Construction

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead multiple commercial HVAC and mechanical construction projects within a hands-on subcontractor environment.This role is designed for an experienced Project Manager who is ready to take full ownership of project execution, operational performance, and overall project outcomes across a portfolio of active jobs. You will oversee complex HVAC systems, piping installations, and field operations while operating independently in a fast-paced contractor environment where leadership, accountability, and disciplined execution are critical.The ideal candidate brings strong commercial mechanical construction experience, understands both field and financial operations, and can confidently lead projects from preconstruction through closeout with minimal oversight.ResponsibilitiesLead multiple commercial HVAC and mechanical construction projects simultaneously from preconstruction through final closeoutManage field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and internal staff across multiple active job sitesOversee complex HVAC systems, piping scopes, and mechanical installations with strong technical understandingDrive project schedules, cost control, forecasting, and overall project executionProactively identify and resolve project risks, coordination issues, and field challenges before they impact project outcomesServe as a primary point of contact for clients, inspectors, subcontractors, and company leadershipReview mechanical drawings, specifications, and construction documents to support accurate field executionManage RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, and project documentation throughout the project lifecycleLead procurement strategy, subcontractor coordination, and material/equipment planningConduct jobsite visits to monitor project progress, quality, scheduling, safety, and field coordinationRequirements8+ years of experience managing commercial HVAC or mechanical construction projectsStrong background in commercial HVAC systems required — residential-only experience will not be consideredExperience working for a mechanical contractor, HVAC subcontractor, or design-build mechanical firm requiredProven ability to independently manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal oversightDemonstrated leadership experience managing field teams and subcontractors within hands-on contractor environmentsAbility to read and interpret mechanical drawings and construction specificationsWorking knowledge of project scheduling and cost control software including Microsoft Project or similar platformsStrong communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skillsComfortable operating within a fast-paced, hands-on small-company contractor environmentBenefitsCompetitive salary commensurate with experienceHealth insurance and benefits packageRetirement plan optionsPaid time offAdditional company-sponsored benefit programsIf you're an experienced mechanical construction leader looking for an opportunity to take ownership of impactful commercial projects within a growing contractor environment, we'd love to hear from you.
