Cook PositionBayshore Residence and Rehabilitation Center is looking for a cook to join our team!Bayshore Residence and Rehabilitation Center is a residential health care facility that provides the highest levels of quality care by responding to the rights, needs, and concerns of its residents, families, and staff. We create a caring environment in which each person is respected for their individuality and treated with kindness, dignity, and respect.The ideal candidate for this position has previous cooking experience in a skilled nursing facility, enjoys working in a busy environment, and is capable of taking direction well and multi-tasking effectively. Under the direct supervision of the dietary manager, the cook will prepare, season, and cook food for residents, staff, and visitors.Responsibilities:Maintain accurate food inventoriesPrepare the food for residents, staff, and visitorsRotate stock items as per established proceduresAssist in clean up, kitchen maintenance, and setting up and taking down of dining areas as needed.Ensure that the food prep area and kitchen are cleaned and sanitized at the end of your shiftProperly store food items at appropriate temperaturesMeasure and assemble ingredients for menu itemsRestock kitchen for subsequent shiftsExperience:Cook/Dietary Aide: 1 YearLong term care dietary experienceSkills:Able to read and follow standardized recipesServe safe certification preferredAble to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen atmosphereStrong knowledge of proper food handling proceduresWe are looking forward to hearing from you!We believe the work that we do is a privilege.
