Position Summary
The Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing relationships within a portfolio of 200–400 existing customer accounts, primarily small and mid-sized businesses, along with some large clients. This is not a net-new hunting role—sales efforts are focused on existing accounts. This role owns the full sales cycle from initial engagement through closing, while also providing ongoing account management, renewals, and customer support. It cultivates a broad skillset in sales, relationship management, service coordination, and data-driven business planning.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Achieve sales activity, customer engagement goals, and production targets as outlined by the Sales Leader
Renew and retain current clients through proactive account management and support
Identify and pursue expansion opportunities within existing account base
Maintain consistent communication with clients via phone, email, LinkedIn, and other channels
Conduct thorough needs assessments and qualify opportunities during the sales process
Negotiate with decision-makers to close deals and deliver value
Prepare and present Quarterly Business Reviews, product demos, and proposals using account metrics and insights
Collaborate with Sales Support, Service, Operations, and Logistics teams to ensure positive customer outcomes
Build rapport and brand equity through strong client relationships
Utilize Microsoft Dynamics and other internal CRM/account management tools
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent communication skills
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Ability to travel offsite on rare occasions
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a sales environment
Advanced Excel skills
Proven success with sales quotas and/or customer retention
Prior B2B technology or print-industry sales/account management experience
