Coordinator of Day Services

POSITION SUMMARY Hours: Monday – Friday, with flexibility to work weekends, evenings when needed. Required to be available by cell phone 24/7 to program staff/individuals. This position reports to the Director of Day Services. Responsible for overall supervision of assigned programs. Provides supervision to the Day Services Managers and department staff. Is the Acting Director in the absence of the Director. ESSENTIAL DUTIES Provides oversight within the programs and completes individual site reviews on a routine basis. Makes recommendations regarding program issues. Ensures support to Day Services managers for all performance related issues. Provides education on DDS regulations to all assigned program staff and attends all licensing and/or QSR inspections. Facilitates process of addressing citations according to the plan of correction with respective Day Services manager and keeps records of inspections, citations, and follow through of recommendations for all programs. Works as a liaison between Nurse Consultants, Behaviorist and/or other medical contacts. Facilitates the habilitative process. Attends individual meetings as needed. Participates in the referral and intake process and assists in transition and departure of individuals in the department. Assists Day Services Managers in oversight of training requirements. Attends special events, Job fairs and weekend coverage as needed. Assumes responsibility of Department oversight in Absence of the Director. Assists the Director in the formulation of policies and procedures and annual Department Goals. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field preferred or experience in lieu of degree Five (5) years of applicable experience including at least five (5) years of increasingly responsible supervisory and management, assignments encompassing program planning, staff supervision, and day to day operational management program settings and previous experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities. Possess a Medication Administration Certification through DDS. Completes all required Day Services training. Able to proficiently navigate through organizational web-based client documentation software system-Therap. Proficiency in navigating and using Computer programs and applications- ex- Outlook, Word and Excel. Must be physically able to implement restraint procedures and administer CPR without reasonable anticipation of injuring oneself and/or others. Must possess a valid and Safe state of CT Driver’s license with Rideshare approval. And if needed, obtain a PSL. Able to manage multiple tasks concurrently and keep internal customers informed of progress. Ability to think clearly and quickly under pressure. Must be sensitive to varying levels of understanding and always provide excellent customer service, adapting to individual needs. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand/walk for 4 to 6 hours, sit for 1 to 3 hours, drive 1 to 3 hours, lift 20 to 50 pounds; will use hands for repetitive single grasping, fine manipulation and pushing/pulling and operate foot controls. Frequent bending, twisting, squatting, climbing, and reaching, are required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
