This role supports production operations by cleaning and sanitizing dishes, utensils, containers, equipment, and work areas in accordance with food safety and sanitation requirements. The Dishwasher operates cleaning equipment safely and efficiently while contributing to a clean, organized, and safe working environment. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced production setting.Primary ResponsibilitiesWash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, utensils, trays, tubs, containers, and production equipment in accordance with sanitation proceduresOperate industrial dishwashing and sanitation equipment safely and efficientlyMaintain cleanliness and sanitation of production areas, floors, drains, sinks, and waste stationsRemove trash and recycling materials and maintain organized storage and cleaning areasSupport production teams with cleaning and sanitation needs during and following production activitiesRestock cleaning, sanitation, and supply inventory as neededComplete sanitation logs, cleaning records, and required documentation accurately and timelyJob RequirementsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredAbility to follow written and verbal instructions and established sanitation proceduresStrong attention to cleanliness, organization, and detailAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced team environmentReliable attendance, dependability, and punctualityBasic understanding of workplace safety and sanitation practicesAbility to maintain professionalism and work cooperatively with team members and leadershipWillingness to comply with all food safety, sanitation, and company policies and proceduresPreferredPrevious experience in dishwashing, sanitation, food production, warehouse, commissary, or restaurant operationsKnowledge of food safety and sanitation standards, including GMP, HACCP, or USDA requirementsExperience operating industrial cleaning or sanitation equipmentBilingual English/Spanish communication skillsEssential FunctionsAbility to stand and walk continuously for extended periods during scheduled shiftsAbility to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, twist, reach, and perform repetitive hand and arm motionsAbility to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds safely and repeatedly throughout the shiftAbility to operate dishwashing, sanitation, and cleaning equipment safely and effectivelyAbility to work in wet, slippery, hot, cold, and humid environments for extended periodsAbility to safely handle cleaning chemicals, sanitation agents, and food waste materialsAbility to visually inspect equipment, dishes, utensils, and work areas for cleanliness and sanitation complianceAbility to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding operational or safety concernsAbility to work in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining attention to detail and safety standardsAbility to wear and work in required personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, aprons, waterproof boots, face shields, and hair/beard restraintsAbility to move carts, racks, containers, and supplies throughout the production and sanitation areasAbility to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, overtime, or extended shifts as business needs requireSpecial RequirementsFollow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures Properly handle cleaning chemicals and sanitation supplies Report maintenance issues, equipment malfunctions, or safety concerns to supervisors Support compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), USDA, HACCP, and company policies Specific physical requirements and environmental conditions will vary based on the roleNOTE: This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying the position.
