Quality Control Manager (Food Production)
Our client is hiring a Food Manufacturing Quality Assurance Manager to join and lead our team and programs. You will partner closely with production, sanitation, maintenance, procurement, scheduling, and plant leadership as you drive program execution and support continuous improvement.
We are looking for someone who can keep food safety tight, quality high, and operations running smoother than a perfectly tempered chocolate.
We want to meet you if you have experience working in a food manufacturing environment with exposure to leadership or supervisory responsibilities and strong knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, allergen management, pasteurization, BRCGS/GFSI programs, and food safety regulations.
This role is essential to plant operations and we are ready to meet you.
What you’ll actually do (aka how you’ll make an impact):
Take ownership of key food safety & quality programs—driving them from “in progress” to fully implemented and optimized
Maintain documentation, ensure consistent execution, and follow through so nothing falls through the cracks
Monitor production on the floor to ensure compliance with HACCP, GMPs, allergen control, sanitation, and customer requirements
Oversee sampling, testing, and hold & release to ensure only compliant product ships
Lead and support the team responsible for product disposition decisions
Ensure lab activities, calibration, supplies, pest control, and quality support programs are running smoothly
Investigate non-conformances, complaints, and deviations—identify root causes and help implement long-term fixes
Track quality performance, prepare reports, and communicate updates clearly to leadership
Support audits and inspections by ensuring documentation and plant readiness at all times
Collaborate with operations, sanitation, maintenance, and other teams to keep programs aligned and moving forward
Step in as backup support for QA leadership when needed to maintain continuity
What you bring:
A background in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field—or equivalent hands-on experience
Experience working in a food manufacturing environment with exposure to leadership or supervisory responsibilities
Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, allergen management, pasteurization, BRCGS/GFSI programs, and food safety regulations
Comfort working in a fast-paced plant environment and managing shifting priorities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality/data management systems
Ability to navigate documentation, specifications, and production records with accuracy and attention to detail
A structured, accountable, and solutions-focused approach to leading and supporting others
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage timelines, priorities, and cross-functional coordination
A continuous improvement mindset with a focus on consistency and quality outcomes
Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to build strong working relationships across teams and levels within a plant environment
