About The RoleUber Freight is looking for experienced professionals with a background in the Logistics Engineering field. Our specialist will work strategically with potential clients to gain an understanding of their specific supply chain challenges and to jointly explore supply chain improvement opportunities. In addition, the engineering group provides tactical decision-making services that bridge the gap between strategic planning and operational execution all while providing excellent customer service to our customers.What The Candidate Will DoProject Management Gather customer requirements.Schedule strategy calls with stakeholdersScope project appropriatelyAssign responsibilities to Sales or OpsEngage Sales or Ops in projectsCoordinate Sales or Ops assignments with cross-functional teams, holding all participants accountable to project milestones and deadlines.Customer Relationships Communicate effective, prompt, detailed and courteous communicationsAct as an expert adviser to the customer to inform them of options and recommend the best practice for the customer's supply chainInternal Analytical Support Execute batch mileage applications to calculate lane distances Analyze consolidation savings for internal customersDevelop heuristics and incorporate into programStatistical AnalysisSupply Chain SolutionsQuantitative and Qualitative Analysis of customers supply chain opportunities and challengesEvaluate and design/model customer distribution networkUse advanced modeling to evaluate and optimize the customer's transportation and distribution networkLane Benchmarking (Utilize Uber Freight market knowledge and leverage existing Uber Freight data, including procurement and that of external data sources)Analyze and benchmark historical shipment dataModel supply chain network in propriety softwareOpportunity PricingAnalyze and benchmark historical shipment dataCoordinate pricing exercise with internal brokerage teamsCollect and evaluate responses from internal brokerage, determining validity Determine validity utilizing statistical comparisons of benchmark data and final responsesCommunicate anomalies and recommend appropriate changesCompare benchmark and internal brokerage results and provide overall transportation savings opportunity through standard scenariosPresent savings opportunity to salesperson and make recommendation on final pricing results Basic Qualifications0 - 2 years of experience in a logistics engineeringBachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or closely related field OR High School diploma or GED equivalent, with minimum 4 years of related experiencePreferred QualificationsKnowledge of Freight IndustryReporting and Analytics (Ability to run BI reports; validate information; understand report, and offer feedback and deliver insights to your manager and or customer contacts on the information contained within the report)Microsoft Excel— knowledge of Microsoft Excel including but not limited to VLookup, Pivot Tables and advanced formulasBasic knowledge of optimization softwareBasic Understanding of Supply Chain Management Principles & Strategies - Design, planning, execution, control, and monitoring of supply chain activities with the objective of creating net value, building a competitive infrastructure, leveraging worldwide logistics, synchronizing supply with demand and measuring performance globallyStrong project management skillsStatistical representation of operations through detailed data analysisWorking Knowledge of relational database and SQLAbout Uber FreightUber Freight is a market-leading enterprise technology company powering intelligent logistics.
