Senior Engineer 2, Machine Learning

The A&F Corporate Global Data and Integrations DevOps team is searching for an ambitious and gritty Machine Learning Engineer. This role will focus on building, operating, and scaling production grade MLOps and GenAI platforms that enable data scientists and product teams to reliably deploy predictive analytics and Generative AI applications across the enterprise.This role is highly operations and infrastructure focused, emphasizing automation, reproducibility, observability, and cost-efficient scaling of machine learning and GenAI systems. MLOps and LLMOps are critical to ensuring new insight and GenAI-powered products move quickly to production without accumulating long-term technical debt or becoming high-maintenance systems.The Machine Learning Engineer will demonstrate deep, practical knowledge of modern MLOps, LLMOps, cloud-native ML architectures, and foundational data engineering practices. This role will also help elevate the organization by enabling data scientists to own projects end to end, from data exploration and prompt experimentation through production deployment, monitoring, and iteration.What Will You Be Doing? Machine Learning & GenAI Pipeline ManagementDesign, build, and deploy end to end ML and GenAI pipelines from exploratory analysis and feature/prompt engineering through model training, evaluation, and batch or real-time inference.Develop and operate reproducible workflows supporting:Classical ML and deep learning modelsFoundation models and fine-tuned LLMsRetrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelinesEvaluate and integrate new technologies that reduce technical debt and improve reliability, scalability, and developer productivity across ML and GenAI workloads.Develop and maintain best practices and how to guide modern MLOps and LLMOps, including:Git-based development workflowsCI/CD for ML and GenAI (training, evaluation, and deployment)Data, feature, prompt, and model validationExperiment tracking for models and promptsModel and prompt registries with versioning and lineageFeature stores and vector databases (embeddings) with offline/online consistencyScheduling and orchestration of ML and GenAI pipelinesData, feature, embedding, and output drift monitoring with alertingLatency, throughput, and cost monitoring for LLM inferenceOptimization of cloud compute and model serving costsServe as the MLOps / LLMOps Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the GDI DevOps and Data & Analytics teams.Train and enable data scientists and analysts on production oriented ML and GenAI best practices, including safe deployment patterns.GenAI & LLM EnablementEnable enterprise GenAI use cases by building shared infrastructure and guardrails for:Prompt engineering and prompt lifecycle managementLLM evaluation and quality scoring frameworksRetrieval pipelines using embeddings and vector searchSupport hybrid architectures combining:Traditional ML predictionsEmbedding-based retrieval systemsFoundation models and fine-tuned domain-specific modelsImplement governance, security, and compliance controls for GenAI systems, including:Input/output validationPII and sensitive data handlingModel access and usage trackingData EngineeringEstablish, parameterize, and maintain connections to new and existing data sources (transactional, clickstream, social, unstructured, and external data).Apply best practices for writing curated datasets, embeddings, and ML features to data lakes, warehouses, feature stores, and vector stores.Ensure data accuracy, consistency, lineage, and traceability to support a single source of truth across ML and GenAI workflows.Partner with Data Engineering, Platform, and Security teams to evolve scalable, secure, and performant data solutions.What Do You Need To Bring? The range may be modified in the future.
