Childcare Assistant Teacher

Position Summary: Our teachers are passionate about the development of children show each child love and kindness. The lead teacher will be responsible for maintaining a positive and age-appropriate educational environment, and create a program that meets the intellectual and emotional needs of all our children. The assistant teacher will work closely with the lead teacher to ensure our program provides education, physical health, emotional well-being and parental involvement to all students enrolled. Assistant Teacher Responsibilities: Understand and comply with state licensing rules and regulations Meet the emotional, social and cognitive needs of each child Engage children in activities and play that stimulates their development Establish a professional level of rapport with each family in order to provide quality care Assist in creating and maintaining an environment that is clean, organized, and safe for all children Assist in planning daily activities that are developmentally age-appropriate Be responsible for daily recordings including but not limited to: eating, sleeping, diaper changes/potties, pictures, activities, etc. Teacher Qualifications: Be not less than 16 years of age. Have a high school diploma or GED or in High School Submit to various background checks including those completed through the Department of Human Services and Michigan State Police Department Be CPR, First Aid and Blood Borne Pathogen certified or obtain upon hire Be mentally and physically capable of caring for a large group of children alone in a classroom Possess a strong work ethic, be punctual and have minimal absences Have appropriate expectations of children's abilities and be aware of their individual needs Be able to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull, and carry children up to 70lbs Be available for full-time employment and available to work as late as 6:30pm Maintain a professional self-image and project the values of the organization at all times Have reliable transportation Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour Benefits: Employee discount Flexible schedule Paid time off Referral program Work Location: In person
