Youth Basketball Skills Coach

Job description We are seeking an energetic and knowledgeable Youth Basketball Skills Coach to lead skill-focused basketball training sessions for young athletes ages 6-12. The coach will be responsible for developing fundamental basketball skills in a fun, structured, and positive environment while promoting teamwork, confidence, and sportsmanship. Company Description: Milwaukee Yard is a state-of-the-art athletic facility located in the Milwaukee suburb, Oak Creek. We have indoor fields and courts where we host leagues, rentals, trainings, birthday parties, and events. We also have a full-service daycare and after-school program that utilizes our indoor space. Learn more about what we have to offer here: https://milwaukeeyard.com/ Hours: Part Time (20 hours/week) Shifts are Monday-Friday 8:30am-12:30pm Responsibilities Plan and lead engaging basketball skills sessions focused on fundamentals such as dribbling, shooting, passing, footwork, and defense Create age-appropriate drills and activities that encourage skill development and participation Provide clear instruction, demonstrations, and constructive feedback Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all participants Communicate effectively with players, parents, and program staff Arrive prepared and on time for all sessions Set up and clean up equipment before and after practices Qualifications Experience coaching or playing basketball (youth coaching experience preferred) Strong communication and leadership skills Ability to work with children and create a motivating learning environment Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor CPR/AED certification or willingness to obtain (preferred) Physical Requirements Ability to demonstrate basketball skills and drills Ability to stand and move actively for the duration of sessions Compensation $18-20 hourly Job Types: Part-time, Temporary Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour Ability to Commute: Oak Creek, WI 53154 (Preferred) Ability to Relocate: Oak Creek, WI 53154: Relocate before starting work (Preferred) Work Location: In person
