Class B CDL Delivery Technician - Hazmat, Tanker & Air Brakes Required

Job Overview:The delivery technician position is responsible for the following:Transportation and distribution of propane to customersPerformance of leak tests and other safety checks as considered necessarySafe operation of company vehiclePerforming installation, removal, maintenance, diagnostic, and repair work related to propane tanks, supply systems, and appliancesTransporting propane tanks and occasional basic vehicle maintenanceThe candidate must possess considerable skill in troubleshooting, service, repair, and maintenanceMust obtain, or be able to obtain a Class B CDL with tanker, air brake, and hazmat endorsementsResponsibilities and Duties:Transfer of propane from bulk storage to truck and from truck to customer tanksVerification of tank information upon customer delivery including serial numberPerform visual inspection of equipment and report issuesContinuous monitoring of truck tank levels to ensure adequate supplyEnsure truck is adequately stocked with all necessary tools and suppliesMaintain clean and mechanically sound vehicles and suppliesBe aware of special conditions surrounding select deliveriesEducates customers on safe and proper operation, maintenance, and safety proceduresInspects company vehicle daily and reports issues in a timely mannerUnderstands all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and codes pertaining to the installation and maintenance of tanks, propane equipment and supply systemsPrepares work orders, invoices and other documentation related to work performed in accordance with company and industry standardsInstallation and removal of propane tanks and gas-powered appliancesInstallation and maintenance of gas piping systems including underground lines, above ground lines, interior piping, and other related equipmentDiagnostic, maintenance and repair work related to propane tanks, supply systems and gas-powered appliancesPerforms inspections and leak tests of supply systems and equipmentProvide exceptional customer serviceRequirementsEducation and Experience:High School diploma or GEDRelevant experience preferredFamiliarity with computers or mobile devices used in serviceWithin 60 days of employment, must obtain a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License in accordance with U.S. Department of Transportation regulations in employee's state of residence with a Hazardous Materials endorsementEmployment is conditional on verification of clean driving record, background check(s), and pre-employment/random drug testingCompetencies:CommunicationTechnical and mechanical skillsCritical EvaluationCapable of working independentlyRelationship ManagementAvailable Benefits:Comprehensive benefits package401(k) and profit sharingPaid holidays & vacation/sick timeSupervisory Responsibility:NoneWork Environment:This job operates in the field (primarily outdoors)Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Most job functions will be performed outdoors and expose the employee to changing weather conditions.Position Type / Expected Hours of Work:This is a full-time position and regular work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with the ability to work outside of or in addition to those hours as needed.
