You'll learn about aircraft systems and building advanced flight and mission simulators for commercial and military customers in a dynamic environment.This software engineering position is within the Strategic Defense Solutions (SDS) business area where we develop and build air and ground vehicle, flight and maintenance training simulators for military and commercial customers. Devices range in complexity from desktop training all the way up to high fidelity weapon systems and full-flight training systems including full visual, motion and simulator interoperability.Job ResponsibilitiesDesign, documentation, development, debug and test of real time for simulated Aircraft Systems.Assist in development detailed software specifications and provide accurate time estimates for the software developmentSystem modeling, scientific programmingApply knowledge to Product domain, Requirements, Design, Development, Test and Release software processes, tools, methods and coding best practices with primary emphasis on software design and developmentDemonstrate an understanding of how to incorporate the appropriate Collins Aerospace processes and tools into product development, resulting in increased product quality and improving customer satisfactionDesign, code, integrate, regression test, test and documentPerform software debugging using appropriate techniques and toolsPerforms in cross-functional team efforts in integration, verification and validation for products and sub-systemsProvides engineering estimates for own work on tasks similar to those previously performedContribute to software engineering requirements capture, analysis and creation for well-defined software designsSupport and enhance existing software products as necessaryRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline.Experience with developing applications C, C++, C#Experience with software engineering concepts and the software development life cycle (requirements, design, implementation, test, support)Visual Studio and/or EclipseExperience with utilizing MS Office Applications.The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
