The Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs diagnostic studies and assists with therapeutic administrations utilizing radiopharmaceuticals and imaging equipment in accordance with Carle policies and procedures and IEMA Department of Nuclear Safety regulations. ****This role qualifies for a sign-on bonus!!!! We currently have openings for the below shifts/schedules- All of the below shifts/schedules will include a department on call rotation for weekends and holidays. M-F 7:30a-4p, Full-time, 40 hours a week M-Th 8:00a-6:30p, Full-time, 40 hours a week M-F 11:00a-7:30p, Full-time, 40 hours a week Field of Study Related Field Licensed Radiologic Technologist - Radiography - Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) within 1 year - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) Registered in Nuclear Medicine Technology (N) within 1 year - Varies Performs diagnostic studies and radiopharmaceutical therapeutic administration by utilizing Nuc Med and/or PED/CT equipment by acquiring and processing patient exams in accordance with accreting bodies and/or manufacturer guidelines and as outlined in department protocols. Reviews cases with the radiologist when appropriate. Screens the patient for possibility of pregnancy and performs pregnancy testing if applicable. Responsible to review radiology orders for completeness and accuracy. Reviews patient history and supporting clinical data for medical necessity. Takes steps to acquire additional information if needed from the patient, ordering provider and/or Radiologist. Demonstrates acceptable imaging quality standards by critiquing positioning, technical factors and alignment. Reviews patient data for accuracy, quality and completeness. Transfers and verifies image data in PACS and provides necessary medical history and information for Radiologist interpretation. Utilizes the web servers and email systems to send exams for preliminary readings after hours. Responsible for maintaining imaging equipment and workplace environment including maintaining supply inventories and orderliness of work area. Ensures patient, visitor and environmental safety. Reports safety events immediately including those that are a near miss. May be required to perform duties of other modalities within the department to which licensers are held by the technologist/sonographer. Reviews studies with the radiologist when appropriate. Responsible to review radiology orders for completeness and accuracy. Reviews patient history and supporting clinical data for medical necessity. Takes steps to acquire additional information if needed from the patient, ordering provider and/or Radiologist. Utilizes the RIS for proper scheduling, billing and coding procedures. Responsible for maintaining imaging equipment and workplace environment including maintaining supply inventories and orderliness of work area.
