Mechanical Installer
Talascend is currently seeking a Mechanical Installer for a contract opportunity located in Fort Wayne, IN. OVERVIEW: Crew will be going onsite to modify the existing conveyor system to support a new bin size and improve tracking as product moves through the system. This work has two main components: Column Modifications for New Bin Size The current conveyor columns/guides were built for former bin dimension.Crew will be replacing column components (guides, supports, brackets) to properly accommodate the new bin width/height.The goal is to ensure:Bins travel smoothly without binding or shiftingProper alignment is maintained throughout the conveyor pathAdequate clearance is in place to prevent jams or damageWhat to expect:Measuring and verifying new bin dimensions onsiteRemoving or repositioning existing hardwareInstalling updated guide rails or column extensionsChecking spacing consistency across all lanes/machines Sensor Installation for Bin Detection Crew will be adding sensors along the conveyor to detect and track bins as they pass key points.These sensors will help the system:Identify bin presenceTrigger downstream actions (routing, scanning, or counting)Improve overall system visibility and efficiencyWhat to expect:Mounting sensors at designated locations on the conveyor frame or columnsAligning sensors to ensure accurate reads (line of sight and distance are critical)Running and securing cabling back to control panels or junction pointsCoordinating with controls/PLC team for testing and integration Testing & Validation After install, crew will:Run bins through the system to confirm smooth travelVerify sensors are detecting consistentlyMake any needed adjustments to alignment or positioning We thank all applicants for their interest.
