Stocker Job DescriptionPosition TitleStockerPosition SummaryThe Stocker is responsible for receiving, stocking, rotating, and organizing merchandise throughout the store while maintaining clean, safe, and customer-ready sales floors and backrooms. This position plays a critical role in product availability, presentation, inventory accuracy, and overall store operations.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesStock shelves, coolers, freezers, and displays with merchandise according to company standardsRotate product using FIFO (First In, First Out) methods and monitor expiration datesMaintain clean, organized, and safe aisles, displays, and backroom areasBreak down pallets, unload deliveries, and properly stage merchandiseVerify product quantities and report shortages, damages, or discrepancies to managementBuild and maintain promotional displays, endcaps, and ad featuresAssist with pricing, tagging, and replacing missing or incorrect shelf labelsRemove damaged, expired, or unsellable product from sales floorProvide customer service by assisting customers with locating products when neededFollow company safety procedures while operating pallet jacks, carts, ladders, or other equipmentSupport all departments as directed by store managementMaintain productivity and complete assigned tasks within scheduled shiftsAssist with store recovery, fronting, and blocking throughout the dayQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED preferredPrevious grocery or retail stocking experience preferred but not requiredAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsReliable attendance and punctuality requiredAbility to work independently and as part of a teamFlexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed Physical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift throughout the shiftAbility to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally more with assistanceAbility to work in refrigerated and freezer environments for extended periodsAbility to push, pull, and move loaded carts, pallets, and stocking equipment Work EnvironmentGrocery retail environment with frequent customer interactionExposure to varying temperatures, including coolers and freezersFast-paced environment requiring multitasking and physical activity ExpectationsMaintain a positive and professional attitudeFollow all company policies and proceduresMaintain store cleanliness and presentation standards at all timesWork efficiently to ensure shelves remain stocked and customer-ready throughout operating hours
