We are hiring for an Electrical Design Validation Engineer opportunity with one of our clients. Based on your experience in electrical hardware validation, high-speed interface testing, and hardware debugging, I believe this role may be an excellent fit. Position: Electrical Design Validation EngineerLocation: San Jose, CA (Onsite)Employment Type: Long-term Contract Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Validation Engineer to validate power delivery and high-speed interfaces on hardware prototypes consisting of SoCs and peripheral devices. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in hardware validation, electrical compliance testing, board bring-up and debugging complex electronic systems using advanced laboratory equipment. Key ResponsibilitiesPerform end-to-end hardware validation across the product development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design validation, system testing, compliance, and General Availability (GA).Validate power delivery networks (PDN), high-speed interfaces, and embedded hardware platforms.Perform board bring-up, functional testing, power validation, thermal analysis, and system integration testing.Characterize and validate high-speed interfaces, including electrical compliance testing.Debug complex hardware issues involving SoCs, processors, FPGA/CPLD devices, memory, and high-speed communication interfaces.Utilize advanced laboratory equipment, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers (VNA), signal generators, traffic generators, electronic loads, power supplies, and current probes.Support Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI) analysis and hardware optimization.Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams and customers to ensure successful project execution.Develop automation scripts using Python to improve validation efficiency.Support regulatory compliance testing and product certification activities. Required Qualifications·      Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.·      Strong experience in electrical hardware validation and design verification.·      Hands-on experience validating high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, USB, SERDES, Ethernet (MII/GMII/SGMII), DDR3/DDR4, LVDS, SFP, and PoE+.·      Experience with processors (ARM, NXP, Intel, PowerPC), microcontrollers, FPGA, and CPLD-based systems.·      Proficiency using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, VNA, signal generators, traffic generators, electronic loads, and other hardware test equipment.·      Experience with board bring-up, power analysis, EMI/EMC testing, timing, thermal analysis, and system integration.·      Knowledge of Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI).·      Familiarity with schematic and PCB layout tools such as OrCAD, Allegro, DxDesigner, Mentor Graphics, and Valor.·      Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.·      Experience with Python scripting for test automation is highly preferred. Top Required SkillsElectrical Design ValidationHigh-Speed Interface Testing (PCIe, USB, SERDES, DDR, Ethernet)Electronic Circuit & Hardware DebuggingBoard Bring-Up & System IntegrationOscilloscope & High-Speed Test EquipmentSignal Integrity (SI) & Power Integrity (PI)Power, Thermal & EMI/EMC ValidationHardware Compliance TestingSoC & Embedded Hardware ValidationPython Test Automation
