Career Transition Services Specialist (CTS Specialist)

POSITION SUMMARYResponsible to provide students with transitional support and placement services leading to full-time jobs, higher education or advanced training. Works cooperatively with Career TechnicalTraining and Career Transition staff to provide students with comprehensive and individualizedcase management to identify and remediate students’ transitional barriers. Uses proper discretionand judgment to resolve issues and ensure student success after Job Corps. Conducts effectivecommunity job development activities with key business and community leaders.QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree in human services, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business,communications, or closely related field from an accredited school; or Associates degree in humanservices, psychology, counseling, education, social science, business, communications, or closelyrelated field from an accredited school and two years’ related experience. Must possess a valid in-state Driver’s License and meet the Company insurability requirements.RESPONSIBILITIESo Follows all integrity guidelines and procedures and ensures no manipulation of student data.o Supports educational and related placement goals for assigned students.o Ensures Contract meets or exceeds DOL/Company performance goals.o Establishes supportive/mentoring relationships with students during the Career TransitionPhase.o Provides personalized career counseling and evaluates student performance.o Oversees, develops, monitors, and updates student transition plans to ensure successfuloutcome.o Develops Center-beneficial business and community linkages that provide students withquality and industry relevant employment opportunities.o Produces quality work/assignments in a thorough, timely and accurate manner.o Maintains appropriate personal attendance, accountability and work productivity standards.o Plans, prioritizes and organizes assignments to meet established goals and deadlines.o Understands and applies job knowledge to effectively complete all required job responsibilities.Proactively maintains the skills required to perform job duties.o Mentors, monitors and models the Career Success Standards as required by the PRH.o Provides high-quality supervision and management for the student population. Takes swift andappropriate action and positively influences student behavior. Shows respect and courtesy tostudents and holds them accountable for their actions and behavior.o Provides quality programs and services for students and ensures that quality is maintained andstudent needs are met. Pursues improvement and enhancement of programs and services.o Exchanges ideas and information, both orally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner andcontributes meaningfully to group efforts by offering relevant ideas and knowledge. Providesquality and timely information to DOL/Company when requested.o Effectively articulates thoughts and ideas. Identifies problems, analyzes causes and evaluatesappropriate solutions prior to taking or recommending actions. Follows up to ensureprompt/appropriate action and that problems are in fact corrected.o Works in partnership with staff from all Departments to ensure effective supervision andservices are provided to students.o Accepts direction and supervision from the Center Director/Center Duty Officer/Shift Managerto include assignments to temporarily perform job responsibilities of other departments andpositions.o Other duties as assigned.
