This is a 9-month position. The position reports to Social Work Department Program Director.QualificationsRequired Education and/or Work Experience: Minimum qualifications include a master's degree in social work from a CSWE accredited program; knowledge of CSWE standards; minimum of two years of post-MSW professional practice experience; teaching and practice experience should be consistent with the preparation of students for generalist social work practice; experience with technology in the classroom and online course modules is preferred. Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for part of these requirements.Preferred Education And/or Work Experience: Prior faculty and teaching experience preferred but not required.Essential Job Duties And ResponsibilitiesTeach a diversity of BSW program courses. Development and design of new curricula; availability to teach day and evening courses; use of a variety of presentation formats.Student advising.Professional development and service opportunities with the university and in professional organizations in the community.Attendance and participation in all faculty meetings, commencement ceremonies, and other meetings/events as required.Conduct appropriate scholarly and creative activity in field(s) of expertise.Other duties as assigned.Responsible for maintaining a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to foster teamwork and by providing leadership to subordinates.
