Applicants are required to submit a request for each position to which they have applied.DepartmentSocial WorkJob DutiesSummary of Job Duties: This position is a full-time faculty position in the Social Work Department with duties including: teaching courses, conducting scholarly and creative research, scholarship, student advisement, and service to the department, college, and university. This is a 9-month position. The position reports to Social Work Department Program Director.QualificationsRequired Education and/or Work Experience: Minimum qualifications include a master's degree in social work from a CSWE accredited program; knowledge of CSWE standards; minimum of two years of post-MSW professional practice experience; teaching and practice experience should be consistent with the preparation of students for generalist social work practice; experience with technology in the classroom and online course modules is preferred. Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for part of these requirements.Preferred Education And/or Work Experience: Prior faculty and teaching experience preferred but not required.Essential Job Duties And ResponsibilitiesTeach a diversity of BSW program courses. Development and design of new curricula; availability to teach day and evening courses; use of a variety of presentation formats.Student advising.Professional development and service opportunities with the university and in professional organizations in the community.Attendance and participation in all faculty meetings, commencement ceremonies, and other meetings/events as required.Conduct appropriate scholarly and creative activity in field(s) of expertise.Other duties as assigned.Responsible for maintaining a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner to foster teamwork and by providing leadership to subordinates. Requires consistent on-time attendance.Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesAbility to teach a variety of courses in a diversity of formats inclusive of full-online, evenings, and weekends.Diverse knowledge in the broad field of social work.Excellent communication skills.Ability to interact with diverse groups of people with a commitment to working within a team.Success in student learning with instructional methods that address a variety of learning styles.Additional InformationWorking Relationships: Will interact with Field Director and other adjunct faculty members concerning the BSW Program, student cohorts, advising, and all related matters. Requires regular contact and interaction with Program Director and other full-time faculty.Employees Supervised: NoneSpecial Job Dimensions: Work performed primarily in an office/classroom setting. Occasional travel and extended hours required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly exhibits digital dexterity when entering data into computer. Required abilities include walking, standing, and sitting for extended periods. Visual demands include close, relatively detailed vision when focusing on a computer screen.
