An opportunity is available for a School Social Worker serving at the elementary level in Detroit, MI. This full-time, contract position runs through the current school year until June 11, 2026. The role primarily involves providing in-school support five days a week within an elementary school setting.Key Responsibilities:Deliver social work services to students, addressing academic, social, and emotional needs.Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student well-being.Identify and connect students and families with resources both within and outside the school system.Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with school personnel and stakeholders.Qualifications and Experience:Master's degree from a graduate school of social work program approved by the State Board of Education.Temporary or full approval for school social work from the Michigan Department of Education (MDE).Solid understanding of the role and functions of a social worker in a school-based environment.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work cooperatively with a diverse group of colleagues and stakeholders.Prior experience working as a school social worker preferred.Skilled in resource identification and development within educational settings preferred.Location: Detroit, MichiganPosition Type: Full-time contract through June 11, 2026School Level: Elementary
