We're seeking an experienced and dynamic Store Manager to oversee all aspects of retail operations, drive performance, and inspire a team to deliver the best customer experience in the industry.What You'll DoThe Store Manager is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day operations of the dispensary while driving sales performance, operational excellence, employee development, and customer satisfaction. This role serves as the primary leader within the retail facility and is responsible for maintaining a compliant, productive, and customer-focused environment aligned with company standards and Illinois cannabis regulations.The Store Manager provides direct oversight of dispensary staff, inventory operations, financial accountability, compliance standards, and overall facility performance. This position plays a critical role in developing employees, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring the dispensary delivers a consistent, high-quality customer experience.The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong operational knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to effectively manage a fast-paced cannabis retail environment.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesRetail Operations OversightDirect and oversee all day-to-day dispensary operations including sales floor activity, customer service, inventory flow, and overall facility managementEnsure operational efficiency and adherence to company standards across all departments within the dispensaryMaintain a strong leadership presence on the sales floor while supporting staff and customers as neededEnsure all opening, closing, and daily operational procedures are completed accurately and consistentlyMonitor operational performance and implement improvements where necessaryMaintain a clean, organized, safe, and professional retail environmentTeam Leadership & Employee ManagementInterview, hire, onboard, and train dispensary employeesSupervise and support Supervisors, Shift Leads, and retail staffCreate and maintain employee schedules based on business and labor needsConduct regular coaching, performance evaluations, and employee development discussionsAddress employee concerns, attendance issues, policy violations, and performance matters promptly and professionallyAdminister corrective action and disciplinary action in partnership with Human Resources and company leadershipFoster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented workplace cultureLead regular leadership meetings and employee communication meetingsSales & Customer ExperienceDrive sales performance and customer satisfaction while maintaining a customer-first environmentEnsure staff maintain strong product knowledge and provide accurate recommendations to customersSupport sales initiatives, vendor promotions, and retail marketing effortsResolve escalated customer concerns and complaints professionally and effectivelyMonitor customer experience trends and identify opportunities for improvementMaintain strong relationships with customers while promoting brand loyalty and retentionInventory Management & ComplianceOversee inventory management processes including intake, transfers, audits, and inventory reconciliationEnsure inventory accuracy through spot checks, cycle counts, and operational oversightEnsure all cannabis products are properly handled, stored, displayed, and tracked in accordance with company procedures and Illinois cannabis regulationsMaintain compliance with all state requirements, company policies, and operational proceduresEnsure preparedness for inspections, audits, and compliance reviewsPartner with Compliance and Inventory teams to address discrepancies or operational concernsFinancial AccountabilityReview and verify daily sales reports, deposits, cash handling, and register reconciliationMonitor labor usage, operational expenses, and store performance metricsSupport budgeting initiatives and overall financial performance goalsEnsure all cash management procedures are followed consistently and accuratelyMerchandising & Facility StandardsMaintain merchandising standards and product presentation throughout the dispensaryEnsure promotional materials, displays, and product placement align with company expectationsMonitor facility maintenance needs and communicate operational concerns promptlyEnsure the store environment remains welcoming, organized, and visually appealingMinimum QualificationsMinimum 2–3 years of retail management or dispensary management experienceMinimum 2–3 years of management experience (holding a "Manager" title or greater) overseeing large teams (15+) in a fast-paced, customer-facing environmentMinimum 5 years of supervisory experience (holding a "Supervisor" title or greater) supervising large teams (10+) in a fast-paced, customer-facing environmentMinimum 2–3 years of personnel management experience, including independently handling hiring, terminations, disciplinary actions, scheduling, payroll processing, recordkeeping, etc.Minimum 2–3 years of administrative management experience, including independently handling supply orders, inventory procurement, inventory control, cash management, budgeting, cost controls, etc.Previous leadership experience managing teams and retail operationsStrong leadership, communication, and organizational skillsStrong customer service and conflict-resolution abilitiesAbility to multitask and perform in a fast-paced retail environmentKnowledge of inventory management and retail operational proceduresProficiency in Microsoft Office and retail management softwareAbility to maintain professionalism and exercise sound judgment under pressureMust possess or be able to obtain an Illinois Agent In Charge CardMust maintain open availability with the ability to be reasonably "on-call"Preferred QualificationsPrevious cannabis dispensary management experienceExperience managing high-volume retail environmentsExperience with interaction between employees, customers, vendors, and leadership teams. The Store Manager is expected to maintain a strong on-site presence while overseeing all operational, customer service, and compliance functions of the dispensary.
