Job Description Salary:Electronic Records Management (ERM) SpecialistIntermediate Level (24 Years Experience)Location: DMV Area (Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia)Work Type: Full-Time | On-site or Hybrid (based on contract requirements)OverviewNavteca is seeking an Electronic Records Management (ERM) Specialist to support the management, organization, and lifecycle of electronic records across enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will have experience with document management platforms and a strong understanding of records lifecycle processes, compliance, and information governance.This role focuses on ensuring the efficient and systematic control of records, including their creation, classification, storage, retrieval, retention, and disposition, in alignment with organizational and regulatory requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify, classify, archive, preserve, and securely dispose of electronic recordsAdminister and support document management and imaging systems such as EMC Documentum, Captiva, Laserfiche, and similar platformsDesign and improve business processes related to records and information managementEnsure proper capture, indexing, and storage of records and associated metadataImplement and enforce records retention schedules and disposition policiesSupport audits, compliance efforts, and records retrieval requestsCollaborate with stakeholders to align records management practices with business workflows and transactionsMaintain documentation of systems, processes, and procedures related to ERMEnsure compliance with Fairfax County standards and applicable regulationsRequired Skills & TechnologiesDocument Management Systems: EMC Documentum, Captiva, Laserfiche (or similar platforms)Records Lifecycle Management: classification, retention, archiving, dispositionKnowledge of document imaging and digital records systemsUnderstanding of records governance, compliance, and audit practicesFamiliarity with business process design and workflow optimizationExperience with metadata, indexing, and information organizationQualifications24 years of experience in electronic records management or a related fieldExperience working with enterprise document management systemsStrong understanding of records lifecycle and information governance principlesExcellent organizational and analytical skillsAbility to collaborate across technical and business teamsExperience in government or regulated environments is a plusWork Location & ScheduleOn-site or hybrid depending on contract requirementsPrimary location: Fairfax County Government Center12000 Government Center Parkway, Fairfax, VA 22035Standard hours: MondayFriday, 8:00 AM 4:30 PM (30-minute lunch)May require participation in an on-call rotationMust adhere to Fairfax County and/or FCPS holiday and inclement weather policiesAdditional RequirementsAbility to work on-site at County or approved offsite locations as neededTime worked outside approved hours is not billableTimesheets must be submitted for all work performedStaff may not perform work for other clients during assigned County hoursBenefitsNavteca offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:Medical InsuranceDental InsuranceLife and AD&D InsuranceShort-Term and Long-Term Disability (STD/LTD)401(k) Retirement PlanPaid VacationPaid HolidaysPaid Sick LeaveComp/Flex Time
