But be prepared - it’s contagious!Position SummaryThe Accounting Manager for Development & Investments is primarily responsible for overseeing and managing the development accounting team and ensuring they are providing accurate financial reporting and job cost accounting for on-going development projects. This individual will be participating in the oversight, coordination and communication among internal teams and external stakeholders.Essential Job FunctionsProvide accounting oversight for multiple development projects; this includes job costing and general ledger activity for all development assets.Review and approve accounting reports, including draw packages, reports for lenders and partners, and financial statementsAnalyze financial information and summarize financial status of development projects, including review of costs incurred to budget and ensuring budgets are timely and accurately prepared and monitoredAssist in preparation of year-end audit work files, including fielding questions from auditors and tax accounting staff.Manage the D&I accounting team, providing effective guidance, motivation, and management on a daily basisReview, develop, document, and recommend modifications to accounting systems and proceduresAssist in the procurement and renewals of project insurance and bondsPrimary liaison between Accounting Department, Asset Management and Property Mangers to investigate and resolve issues related to project accounting for expansion projects.Ensure compliance with GAAPOther related duties as assignedEducation & Experience RequiredBachelor’s degree in Accounting or finance with minimum of 7 years of development accounting experienceExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbalStrong computer skills, proficient in MS Office programsExperience with Yardi Job Cost software preferred.People Management - Proven ability to manage people successfully.Ability to maintain professionalism at all times under stressful situationsPlanning and Organizing – Establishes a course of action to accomplish goals and evaluate results, develops schedules and task/people assignments, can orchestrate multiple activities simultaneously to accomplish goals, uses resources effectively and efficiently.Dealing with Ambiguity – Can effectively cope with change and shift gears comfortably, can make decisions without having the total picture, can comfortably handle risk and uncertainty.Interpersonal Savvy – Relates well to diverse groups of individuals using diplomacy and tact.Sound troubleshooting skills and the capacity to fully resolve problemsFoundry Commercial is an Equal Opportunity Employer Foundry Commercial is an equal opportunity employer and makes employment decisions on the basis of merit.
