You won’t be siloed in one task; you’ll wear many hats — from event planning and communications to general administration — giving you a 360-degree view of the non-profit world.The DetailsThe Mission: Building local awareness and engagement for wildlife crossings.The Experience: Hands-on community outreach, digital communications, and organizational support.The Future: While this is a summer position, the right candidate may continue with us on a part-time basis (~10 hours/month) throughout the school year.Key ResponsibilitiesFrontenac Safe Passage Campaign OutreachTable at farmers markets, festivals, and community events throughout the Kingston-to-Brockville region to raise public awareness of the Frontenac Safe Passage campaignSet up and take down display boards, tables, and promotional materials at eventsEngage members of the public in meaningful conversations about wildlife corridors, road ecology, and A2A’s conservation workAttend Road Ecology report presentations and assist in advocacy and awareness activitiesEvent Planning & CoordinationHelp plan, organize, and facilitate community events in the Kingston-Brockville area aimed at raising awareness of A2A campaigns and conservation initiativesLiaise with partner organizations and local communities to coordinate stewardship and habitat restoration eventsCommunications & Administration SupportSupport the development of promotional content for A2A communication channels, including the website, social media, and newsletterProvide general administrative support to the Executive Director and the organization as neededMaintain accurate records of outreach activities, event attendance, and campaign contactsRequired QualificationsMust meet Canada Summer Jobs eligibility requirements: be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment, be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred, and be legally entitled to work in CanadaValid Canadian driver’s licence and access to a reliable personal vehicle (mileage reimbursement provided)Lives in or near the Kingston to Brockville area (travel to events throughout this corridor is required)Strong verbal communication skills — comfortable speaking with members of the public in a variety of settingsPhysical ability to carry and set up display boards, tables, and promotional materials at outdoor eventsPassion for environmental conservation, wildlife, and community engagementStrong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasksPost-secondary education (completed or in progress) is preferredAssetsFamiliarity with the Frontenac region and local conservation issuesExperience with social media, content creation, or nonprofit communicationsPrevious experience in public outreach, tabling, or event coordinationHow To ApplyPlease send a resume and a brief cover letter explaining your interest in this position and how your background fits the role to:secretariat@a2acollaborative.orgInclude the name of the position in the subject line, and your cover letter should be pasted into the email.Please mention you saw this at GoodWork.ca.Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
