SUMMARYResort Maintenance Technicians perform routine and preventative maintenance to maintain the physical integrity of Grand Traverse Resort and Spa. The position will conduct building repairs and are responsible for cleanliness and upkeep of property buildings, offices, guest rooms, pools, facilities, equipment, & various utility systems. Maintenance Technicians complete work orders and provide quick responses, follow-through and excellent customer service to guests, residents, members, and departmental areas within the resort. Technicians report to and take directions from the engineering management team which includes Engineering Supervisors, Assistant Director of Engineering, and the Director of Engineering. In this position, you will have an opportunity to gain the needed skills to become a Tech III and give the opportunity to work towards your EPA refrigerant handling certification.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESRespond to maintenance requests, assess the problem, and repair or refer the situation on to a supervisor for further action in a timely mannerSchedule appropriate downtime repairs around the use of our guests and use of the facilityPerform minor repairs and service plus assist in major repairs of HVACR and related equipment and systems which includes: (boilers, domestic hot water systems, kitchen equipment, rooftop equipment and all related mechanicalsPerform all Preventative Maintenance on above equipment which includes: (cleaning, painting, filter changing, lubrication, sanitary systems and snaking out drainsImplement electrical setups for large and small groupsAssist Tech III with running diagnostic tests on resort equipmentLearn to interpret test results and repair or recommend action to be takenDocument and log all equipment operation and service recordsAssist as part of the First Response team during emergenciesEnsure repairs meet all state and local codes and are performed in a workmanship like mannerProvide leadership, guidance, and training for Tech I employeesBe responsible for the condition of all facility assigned tools and equipment including vehiclesMaintain open line of communication with supervisorRespond to mobile radio requests using professional radio etiquette.
